What does reclaimed timber scaffolding look like?
The boards have all been used, so will have some rustic wear which may include nail holes, chips, wood splits and saw marks. Our team select boards which have rustic character. The boards will be cut at each end to give a fresh edge, but may still have nail or banding holes as a remnant of its previous life on a building site. We remove all metal banding as standard.
What are the dimensions of the scaffold board?
Exact dimensions may vary, but the board’s dimensions are approximately : 225mm wide, 38mm thick, with the length custom to your order. Please note we make every effort to be as accurate as we can with your cuts, but please allow a few millimetres tolerance.
What are the scaffold boards made from?
Pine or European whitewood

What finish will the sanding be?
We sand to a smooth to touch (120 Grit) finish, this is both sides and on the edges of the board.
What if I want a shelf treated with a finish or stain, but I don’t want it sanded?
Wood finishes such as stain, oil and wax finishes do not take well to rough boards, sanding is an essential part of the process to upcycle the board to look its best. For this reason we do not want to disappoint our customers. We have a constant stock of scaffold boards at the Leeds Wood Recycling shop and are open to the public 10 – 4pm Monday to Saturday and can cut raw unprocessed boards for you when you come in store.
